IF I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN ARE THERE ANY PRODUCTS I SHOULD AVOID USING?
The fact of the matter is, everyone's skin is different! Often what you may find irritates your skin, can have little to no effect on someone else's skin.
If you have sensitive skin and are unsure of whether Milk & Co products will be suitable to your skin, we recommend patch testing products before you use them as a precautionary measure.
Test a small drop of the product on your skin (we suggest your hand or arm, not the face!) and if your skin is clear with no irritation 24-48 hours later, you’re good to go!
Experts suggest if you have sensitive skin that you should keep a few principles in mind; avoid washing with hot or cold water and use lukewarm water instead, keep the use of any scrub very minimal so as to keep the protective barrier of your skin in tact, and lastly be mindful that while fragrances smell delicious some are natural allergens that can cause irritation. For more on this topic, check out our blog post!
If you have any known allergies or ingredients you know don’t agree with you, you will find the list of ingredients for each product on its page. If you want to know more, contact us here.
I DON'T WEAR MAKE UP, DO I STILL NEED TO CLEANSE MY SKIN AT THE END OF THE DAY?
Absolutely! Wearing make up isn't the only reason you should give your skin a much needed cleanse, during the course of the day our skin comes into contact with all kinds of nasty external stimuli like dust, pollution, all the germs you touched with your hands before you scratched your face.. uh oh! By cleansing regularly, you can rid your skin of any of these nasty impurities. Need to cleanse on the go? Keep a pack of our Beauty Wipes or Scrub and Cleanse Wipes on hand, they both cleanse AND exfoliate your skin, leaving it feeling (and smelling) fresh and clean!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY SUNSCREEN AND WHY?
Sunscreen should be applied evenly and liberally to all areas of your skin that are exposed to the sun. We also suggest you apply it 20 minutes prior to sun exposure, and before coming into contact with water to ensure it has sunk into your skin and won’t wash off immediately.
We recommend you apply every 2 hours (more often when sweating) and also after exposure to water and toweling off. We also advise that you use our sunscreen in conjunction with wearing a hat and sunglasses, as well as protective clothing if you plan on being out in the sun for a long period of time!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPF15, SPF30 AND SPF50?
SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. Most people think SPF is about strength, when actually it’s about time. Think about it like this; if without sun protection you find yourself turning red in the sun after 10 minutes – then when you use an SPF30 sunscreen: 10 minutes x 30 Sun Protection Factor = 100 minutes protection. So the difference between an SPF15, SPF30 and SPF50 product is the length of time they can offer you protective coverage. If you want high protection for long days at the beach, use SPF50. If you want minimal coverage for every day use when you’re only out in the sun for short periods of time then use an SPF15 or SPF30.
DO MEN NEED TO MOISTURISE?
The short answer is yes! We don't want to bang on too much about it so here are a few short reasons why.
A man's skin can be as much as 24 percent thicker than a woman's and male skin tends to be oilier than female's. Men have larger pores and an increased tendency to sweat compared with women's skin. This mean's that borrowing your girlfriend or partners moisturiser just isn't going to cut the mustard.
Moisturising prevents moisture evaporating from the skin and promotes water retention. Allowing you to feel and look a whole lot better. Men should also find a moisturiser that contains a sunscreen like our Milk Face Moisturiser + Sunscreen. Unfortunately men have an increased risk of skin cancer - this is most likely due to men avoiding all skin care products, including sunscreens. As if protecting skin from skin cancer isn't enough, using a moisturiser with sunscreen will protect against premature aging, wrinkles, and dry skin.
When applying moisturisers with sunscreen men should not stop at the face, keep going to the neck, ears and bald spot (if applicable!).

DOES SNOTTY GROTTY REALLY WORK?
Again the short answer is yes! For years and years when your little one had a cold it was suggested to place a vaporiser in their room. For our founder Lindy Klim, having water and electricity alone in your bubba's room just didn't sit well, so she created Snotty Grotty. One spray and you can literally smell the chamomile and eucalyptus working to clear the nasal passages, allowing you to breath easier. An added bonus, Snotty Grotty doesn't just work on your bubba but it is an effective, all natural method to get you through those miserable colds!
